I suppose like with anything you buy, price is subjective. Some people may think that paying over $100 for a coffee maker is cheap, whereas others are expecting to pay much less than this.
You can buy a perfectly reasonable cheap coffee maker, for instance there is a Black and Decker model on the market for quite a bit under $20. This cheap coffee maker will brew 12 cups of coffee quite happily and it does have a feature for keeping the coffee nice and warm. The model is called the Sneak-A-Cup which is a very fitting name – if you don’t want to wait till the last water has filtered through you can sneak a cup!
This cheap coffee maker is available in either black or white so it will go with most kitchen decor. Black and Decker also offer three or four other models that come in under $25, which is still quite a good price to pay for a coffee maker.
Of course if you are looking for a cheap coffee maker that brews fewer cups, then you could do well to look at the Mr Coffee 4 cup programmable coffee maker. This is ideal if there is just one coffee drinker in the house, or if you want to make a fresh pot in the morning and another later in the day. This model is available for under $15! I am sure no-one will argue that this model is indeed a cheap coffee maker. Just because it’s cheap does not mean to say it’s no good. You can pause brewing to pour yourself a cup of coffee, and you are able to program it in advance.
Several great reviews have been posted, among these are comments like “Easy to clean. ………. removeable filter cup for easy cleaning. ……auto-pause in brewing is helpful ……….for quick removal ….less spilling”, “I really like this product. …..makes coffee perfectly. …..compact … takes up very little space”, “……a good reliable product. ……. use it everyday ……..when we use the program feature, ….wake up to a hot, ready to drink, pot of coffee” Mr Coffee also manufactures this model in a 12 cup size for around $35.
There are many cheap coffee makers on the market, and the models mentioned above just touch the surface. You should not really go wrong with a cheaper coffee maker, especially if you try to buy a model that has received good reviews, and is from a manufacturer that you have heard of.
Buying from a well established company will help as well – then if you do have any problems you will be able to return your cheap coffee maker to them and get a replacement, subject of course to the terms of the guarantee.
